It was the headline story in the early days of logging: Powder Monkey was his name, Dynamite was his game. Oh, except for that time he got powder crazy and blew the damn stump out of the ground so high it landed right on top of said Monkey’s cherry red, ‘55 GMC pickup. A moment of silence please, for that sweet, innocent pickup.

Brace yourselves. This sounds all nice and innocent with it’s lime, papaya, strawberry and kiwi aromas, but it’ll blow your stump too. The lemon, mint and orange marmalade will sneak around the back for a bitter finish before you can even say Powder Monkey.
She was skeptical. I needed to win her over. We took a drive out to Backwoods Brewery to get an idea if we could really do this brewery thing ourselves. I owe it all to Kevin Waters for getting my wife buzzed on his Blueberry Wheat. A fine man he is. Deb said, “If you can make a beer taste this good, then let’s do it.” So cheers your next beer to Deb. And the one after that to Kevin. -Charlie

Well you guessed it. You’re going to pick up on some Blackberry here. Just the right amount with lemon and a little floral buzz for my girl Deb.

Medium amber beer with a pretty beige head. Notes of strawberry and red cherry float over light caramel and peanut flavors. A medium sweetness leads into an orange and moderately bitter finish.
Every single day I have a hot meal and a cold beer ready for him when he walks through that door. I keep the fire stoked to dry his boots from another day of hard work in the hills, and I wash and press his riggin clothes for the day to come. How do I do it all? Truth is, I’m smashed. He’s a half hour late and this beer is getting warm. Like any good woman I wouldn’t dare serve a warm beer, so I drink it. Crack another. He’s an hour late, 2 hours, you get the picture. I’m smashed. But classy smashed. Dinner and fire are still warm, and this beer isn’t.

To match my hair we’ve got a pale gold single malt, single hop beer. It’s light and balanced, not so much like myself. You’ll find lemon, orange and grassy flavors on top of a hint of sweetness and cracker character from the malt. Pairs nicely with a cold glass. Or a pot roast.

This beer is packed full of Citra and Amarillo hops along with three dry hop additions. The sweetest 100 IBU beer you will ever taste, think that of a juicy fruit. The name speaks for itself considering the 9.5% ABV

A rusty brown brew. Full-bodied with lots of chewy toffee. Licorice, red apple, and cherry linger in the background as the medium-high sweetness flows towards a slightly earthy finish.
